
Walking is perhaps the most simple and basic exercise that anyone can engage in. The average walking pace can actually burn up to 4 calories per minute and all of that comes from the lower section of your body including your thighs. If you want to speed things up then you could try running but you have to remember that running can mean a lot of stress to your body as compare with walking.
Biking can also burn a lot of calories at a faster pace then walking. Another advantage of biking is that means a lot less stress than running. It does not matter whether you are using a normal bike or a stationary one, the effect will be the same.
